Berekum: Mr Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, Member of Parliament for Berekum East in the Bono Region, has initiated the construction of a Technical and Vocational Training Institute (TVTI) at Senase, along with a new basic school at Sofokyere in the Berekum Municipality.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Kyeremeh announced that he is funding these projects to enhance access to education and improve the learning infrastructure within his constituency. During the separate ceremonies at Senase and Sofokyere, he officially handed over the construction sites to JS Skytech Limited, urging them to complete the TVTI project within 18 months.
Mr Kyeremeh highlighted the importance of the TVTI in equipping young people with employable skills, which could lead to job creation in the area. He also mentioned that the basic school project at Sofokyere is expected to be completed in four months, which would significantly ease the burden on pupils who currently travel long distances to attend school in Berekum.
Furthermore, Mr Kyeremeh encouraged families to focus on their children's education, alongside governmental efforts to enhance educational facilities. Osabarima Agyeman Sabi, Chief of Senase, praised the MP's dedication to development and suggested that the government consider building a modern sports complex to foster local sporting talent.
Mr David Owusu Ansah, the Berekum Municipal Director of Education, expressed gratitude to the MP and the government for their efforts in improving educational infrastructure in the municipality. Mr Wilson Amevor, Managing Director of JS Skytech Limited, assured all stakeholders that the projects would be completed on schedule, provided there is cooperation from all parties involved.
