Dormaa-ahenkro: Nana Kumi Agyemang, the Public Relations Officer at the Dormaa Central Municipal Directorate of Education, has praised the contributions of stakeholders in preventing examination malpractices during the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the municipality. He noted that, thanks to the support and cooperation of stakeholders, the municipality has not experienced any malpractices or irregularities since the BECE began on Monday, May 4, 2026.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Agyemang emphasized the significance of this achievement, highlighting the municipality's record of maintaining examination integrity. In an interview at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region, he stated, "We have an enviable record of not recording any examination malpractices or irregularities." However, he issued a stern warning that any teacher or security officer found engaging in examination malpractices would face immediate dismissal.
The examination involves a total of 2,335 candidates, consisting of 1,199 males and 1,136 females from 73 public and private schools, who are taking the exams across nine designated centers in the municipality. Mr. Agyemang further explained that nine supervisors and 10 assistant supervisors are ensuring the smooth conduct of the BECE. Specifically, 402 candidates from eight schools are writing French, while 61 candidates from two schools are writing Arabic.
Mr. Agyemang also noted that a complete report on the exact number of absentees is yet to be received.
