Sunyani: Mr Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani East, has reaffirmed the Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's commitment to addressing the challenges faced by Ghanaians. As the Election 2024 Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Bawumia is expected to maintain his sensitivity to the nation's needs. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh emphasized that Dr Bawumia's government would not let the nation down. He urged the electorate to support the NPP in the upcoming December 7 polls. In an interview conducted in Sunyani, Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh, who is also the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Sunyani East for the December 2024 general elections, cautioned against voting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing it as a politically and economically risky choice. Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh, who also serves as the Board Chairman of the Bui Power Authority (BPA), made these remarks after inspecting an asphalt overlay project on Sunyani town roads . The Department of Urban is overseeing this government-funded project, which aims to enhance economic activities and improve the aesthetics of the Bono Regional capital. He highlighted the project as evidence of the Vice President's dedication to development and addressing citizens' urgent needs. Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh expressed confidence that the constituency would experience further growth if the electorate supported him and Vice President Bawumia. He urged voters to avoid 'skirt and blouse' voting, believing that the observed development would secure votes for both him and Dr Bawumia. In a related interview, Mr John Ansu Kumi, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, echoed similar sentiments, affirming that the government and the MP had met the community's expectations. He highlighted the equal distribution of development efforts across the constituency and encouraged voters to retain the current MP and government to continue fostering growth. Mr Ansu credited the asphalt overlays to the efforts of the MP and Vice President Bawumia, stating that it would be ungrateful not to support them at the polls. Source: Ghana News Agency
