Accra: Multiple award-winning musician Ofori Amponsah has revealed how Barosky unexpectedly became part of the recording of his hit song "Odo Nwom," despite initially insisting that he could not sing.
According to Ghana Web, during an interview with Kafui Dey, Ofori Amponsah shared that Barosky was at the back of the studio humming while the song was being recorded. Impressed by what he heard, Amponsah invited Barosky to contribute to the song. 'When we were recording the song, Barosky was at the back of the studio humming, then I told him to come on board, but he told me he could not sing,' Amponsah recounted.
The musician further explained that he refused to accept Barosky's response because he had previously heard him sing and believed he had something valuable to contribute to the recording. 'I insisted because I had heard him singing,' he said.
Amponsah's persistence paid off as Barosky provided what became the anthem-like part of "Odo Nwom," adding a distinctive element to the song. 'That brought the anthem part of the song by Barosky, and the rest is history,' he stated.
Amponsah also disclosed that music producer Appietus initially doubted Barosky's ability to sing and expressed his reservations during the recording session. 'Appietus was at the back saying Barosky cannot sing, but I insisted,' he said.
