Accra: Music executive, creative entrepreneur, and politician Baba Abdulai Sadiq has reacted to his appointment as Ghana's High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In a post shared on X on March 1, 2026, Baba Sadiq stated that he is honoured by the confidence placed in him by John Dramani Mahama in appointing him to represent Ghana in Nigeria.
According to Ghana Web, the creative entrepreneur turned politician also expressed gratitude to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and assured him of his commitment to serving with diligence and integrity. Baba Sadiq's appointment as Ghana's High Commissioner-designate to Nigeria follows the recall of Baba Jamal, who decided to contest the Ayawaso East by-election after the passing of the Member of Parliament, Naser Mahama Toure.
The appointment was disclosed in a post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Baba Sadiq, who was the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central in the 2024 general election, is expected to represent Ghana's interests in Nigeria and work to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
