Awutu Senya West MP Gizella Tetteh Calls for End to One-Term Cycle to Boost Development

AWUTU-SENYA WEST: Member of Parliament for Awutu-Senya-West Constituency, Mrs. Gizella Tetteh Agbotui, has called on her constituents to break the cycle of electing a new MP every term to ensure sustained development in the area. She emphasized the importance of continuity in leadership to advance local projects during her campaign launch. According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Tetteh Agbotui highlighted the detrimental impact of the frequent leadership changes in Awutu Senya West, where MPs have historically served only one term. She argued that this pattern has hindered progress and development within the constituency. At her campaign event, she urged the voters and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to focus on the long-term benefits of stable governance and to support her re-election in the upcoming December elections. "We have consistently changed MPs eight times in this constituency, one term for each and that has affected our development. This time around let us avoid any excuses," Mrs. Agbotui stated. She believes that her re-election would prevent any disruption to the ongoing development projects initiated under her tenure. In her speech, Mrs. Agbotui also praised the NDC's flagbearer, Mr. John Mahama, describing him as a leader with a proven track record, particularly in terms of women's development and infrastructure projects. She assured the constituents that a vote for her and the NDC would mean continued progress, including the development of key infrastructure such as the Bawjiase market, training colleges, hospitals, dormitory blocks in senior high schools, and roads. The campaign launch saw a large turnout of NDC supporters, who expressed their enthusiasm and commitment to ensuring a victory for Mrs. Tetteh Agbotui and the NDC in the forthcoming elections.
