Wassa-simpa: Awulae Agyefi Kwame II, Paramount Chief of Lower Town Axim and the Nsein Traditional Area, marked his 59th year as Paramount Chief with a grand celebration. The event, which coincided with his 84th birthday, featured a cake-cutting ceremony, highlighting the significance of his long-standing leadership.
According to Ghana News Agency, the festivities began with a special thanksgiving service at the Methodist Church in Wassa-Simpa, the area where his ancestors originally settled after migrating from Nsein. The Right Reverend Emmanuel K. Ansah, Methodist Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese, praised Awulae Agyefi Kwame II for his unwavering dedication to God and humanity, and offered prayers for his continued health and wisdom.
Expressing his gratitude, Awulae Agyefi Kwame II thanked God for His enduring love and faithfulness throughout his 59-year reign. He also expressed appreciation to the Methodist Church Ghana and other churches for their participation in the celebration held at his residence in Wassa-Simpa.
Awulae Agyefi Kwame II, who serves as a Board Member of the Ghana National Gas Company, shared his personal reflections, emphasizing the importance of living in a way that pleases God. He encouraged Christians to be conscious of their actions and strive to be a beacon of light.
Awulae Angama-Tu Agyan, Paramount Chief of the Gwira Traditional Area, remarked on the importance of honoring individuals during their lifetime and acknowledged Awulae Agyefi Kwame II as a respected leader at the Western Regional House of Chiefs, known for his commitment to truth.
Mr. Ackah Watson, a member of the Ghana Rubber Farmers Association, lauded the Paramount Chief for his industrious spirit as a rubber plantation farmer. He highlighted how Awulae Agyefi Kwame II's dedication to agriculture, despite his traditional duties, has inspired many young people in the community to pursue farming.
