Awako’s injury destroyed our plan – Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu insists after draw against Kotoko

Hearts of Oak head coach, Samuel Boadu has indicated that the plans of his team to beat Asante Kotoko were destroyed when the opponent injured midfielder Gladson Awako.

The former Great Olympics poster started for the Phobians today when the team locked horns with the Porcupine Warriors in the first Super Clash of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.

Unfortunately, Gladson Awako sustained an injury in the second half and could not finish the match.

Speaking in a post-match interview after the game ended 1-1, Coach Samuel Boadu stressed that the injury destroyed the plans of his team.

“I wanted to outplay them because I know Hearts of Oak is better than Kotoko. They injured Awako and that destroyed our plan,” the Hearts of Oak coach said.

Coach Samuel Boadu continued, “As for Kotoko I know their weakness so I told my boys to keep their composure because we will bounce back.”

In today’s match, Yussif Mubarik equalized for Asante Kotoko before a late strike from Caleb Amankwah in the 88th minute restored parity for Hearst of Oak.
