Ketu south: Mr. Raphael Nukamewor, the Assembly Member for the Blekusu Electoral Area in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region, has made a significant contribution to education by donating approximately 110 school uniforms to two basic schools within his electoral area.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Nukamewor's initiative aims to enhance inclusivity and attractiveness in education for vulnerable students. The beneficiary schools include Blekusu Roman Catholic (R.C) Basic School and Blekusu Mina Basic School. In an interview during the donation ceremony at Blekusu, Mr. Nukamewor expressed his passion for improving education and ensuring that every child feels a sense of belonging within the school environment, regardless of their socioeconomic background. He emphasized the importance of using available resources to support future leaders, helping to shape them for a successful tomorrow.
The Assembly Member reiterated his commitment to making education accessible to the most vulnerable students in his electoral area through the distribution of free school uniforms. He shared his personal journey as a once needy student in the Blekusu community, encouraging the students to study hard to achieve greatness for themselves and for Ghana.
Mr. Nukamewor also urged the students to make the most of the opportunities provided by their parents and the government, acknowledging the significant investment being made in their education. Mr. Moses Nutekpor, Headmaster of Blekusu R.C Basic School, expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiary schools and assured that the uniforms would be used well. Similarly, Madam Hannah Akpene Lokpo, headmistress of Blekusu Mina Basic School, thanked the Assembly Member and appealed to citizens and non-governmental organizations to support the future of the next generation of leaders.
