Kumasi: Mr Isaac Owusu, Assembly Member for the Odumase CPC electoral area, has taken a significant step by picking forms to contest for the Deputy Secretary position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Manhyia South constituency. This move comes in response to increasing calls within the constituency for renewed leadership.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Owusu, who has served the party in various capacities at the constituency level, expressed that he was motivated by the support and encouragement from grassroots supporters and other party members to enter the race. His current role as Assembly Member for the Odumase CPC electoral area has provided him with insights and experience he believes are crucial for the Deputy Secretary position.
Mr Owusu has been a dedicated member of the NPP for over fourteen years, previously holding the position of Chairman of the Manhyia South NPP Youth Wing. His involvement in the NPP Youth Wing and participation in Dr Bawumia's campaign team during the 2024 campaign season in Manhyia South highlight his active engagement in party activities.
In his appeal to supporters, Mr Owusu emphasized the importance of having a capable and experienced individual in the Deputy Secretary role to strengthen and coordinate the party's leadership at the constituency level. He also urged Ghanaians to support Dr. Alhaji Mahmud Bawumia in the 2028 elections, advocating for a continued mandate for the party.
