Asokore-Mampong Presiding Member Secures NPP Secretary Slot in Asawase Constituency

Asawase: Mr Mohammed Jarah, Presiding Member of the Asokore-Mampong Municipal Assembly, has been elected secretary of the Asawase constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mr Jarah secured 930 votes, surpassing the incumbent, Mr Napoleon Norbert Banful, who received 546 votes.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Moro Mohammed, the incumbent constituency chairman, successfully retained his position by obtaining 823 votes. His main rival, Mr Noah Owusu, managed to secure 650 votes. The election saw a total of 1,477 votes cast, with only one ballot rejected.

In the contest for the Women's Organiser position, Mrs Janet Acheampomaa recorded a decisive victory by amassing 1,288 votes, while her competitor, Mrs Elizabeth Asare, garnered 188 votes. Meanwhile, Mr Ibrahim Saeed emerged as the Nasara Coordinator with 667 votes, outpacing Mr Abdullah Salami Zerba and Mr Tijani Mustapha, who received 335 and 472 votes respectively.

For the Organiser position, Mr Kamal Mohammed narrowly defeated the incumbent, Mr Rashid Dauda, by a single vote. Mr Mohammed received 666 votes, while Mr Dauda got 665 votes. The third candidate, Mr Prince Adjei Offei, collected 142 votes. Overall, the election process was peaceful, with 1,477 delegates participating in the voting.
