Nkroful: Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, has made a significant contribution to the Nkroful Agricultural, Technical and Vocational Senior High School (NASS) by donating 20 sewing machines. The initiative aims to bolster vocational training within the institution. According to Ghana News Agency, the donation came shortly after the school's headmaster requested assistance, following the commissioning of a new six-unit ultra-modern classroom block by Mr Buah. At a brief ceremony attended by the management and staff of the Home Economics Department, Mr Vanda Shaibu, Personal Assistant to the MP and an alumnus of the school, presented the sewing machines on behalf of Mr Buah. Mr Shaibu highlighted that this gesture fulfills a promise made by the MP during the classroom facility's inauguration. He indicated that the MP plans to extend further support to the school, including additional sewing machines for the Home Economics Department. Emphasizing Mr Buah's dedication, Mr Sha ibu reiterated the MP's commitment to advancing technical and vocational education as a means to combat unemployment and equip the youth with essential skills. Mr Joseph Kwaw Blay, the Headmaster of NASS, praised Mr Buah for his unwavering support, acknowledging his critical role in aiding the school to develop skilled manpower for the job market. He assured that the sewing machines would be utilized effectively and encouraged students to honor this gesture by committing to their education and striving for excellence. Additionally, Mr Kwaw Blay appealed for further assistance to construct a 12-unit classroom block to address ongoing infrastructure challenges as the school prepares to transition to a single-track system by September 2026. Madam Mavis Kwasi, Head of the Home Economics Department, expressed her appreciation for the timely intervention, noting that the new machines would greatly enhance practical teaching and learning.
