Kadjebi: Mr Francis Apawu, Chairman of the Oti Regional branch of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), has announced his intention to seek re-election. He emphasized the significant achievements recorded during his first term, with a focus on member welfare and strengthening the regional secretariat through various initiatives.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Apawu highlighted that under his leadership, the region successfully established a permanent regional secretariat. This made Oti the first among the six newly created regions to have its own office. His administration also introduced a Health Insurance Welfare Scheme for members, a GHS2,000 terminal health support package, enhanced funeral donation benefits, and a May Day Awards Scheme to recognize outstanding members.
Mr Apawu stated that these welfare interventions have improved members' confidence in the Association and provided timely support during times of need. Looking to the future, he aims to implement innovative programmes to enhance the economic well-being of members. A key priority is to establish a CLOGSAG poultry farm at Dambai, starting with 1,000 birds, to generate additional income and empower members to become more self-reliant.
He appealed to delegates to renew the mandate of 'Team Apawu' in the July 2026 regional elections. Mr Apawu assured members that, if re-elected, his administration would continue to pursue policies promoting transparency, accountability, unity, and improved welfare for all members in the Region.
