Andr Ayew Pledges Support for Grassroots Football Development in Ghana

Accra: Former Black Stars captain and FIFA U-20 World Cup winner Andr© Ayew has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting grassroots football development in Ghana, saying nurturing young talents remains a priority for him. Speaking at a donation ceremony by the Ghana Reach Chamber of Commerce, Ayew expressed gratitude for the initiative and described the donation as a significant boost for youth sports across communities.

According to Ghana Web, the former Olympique de Marseille forward emphasized that the initiative extends beyond football, supporting constituency games and other sporting activities that provide opportunities for young people across the country. Ayew reflected on his own journey, recalling how he started playing football in his community at a young age before progressing to the highest level of the sport.

Ayew stated, 'Ghana gave me everything, but everything started from my grassroots,' highlighting the importance of providing young athletes with the necessary support to develop their talents. He further pledged his personal support to initiatives aimed at promoting football and encouraging investment in grassroots sports.

Ayew thanked the organisers and the Ghana Reach Chamber of Commerce for the donation, describing it as a major package that would benefit young people across the country. He called on individuals and organisations to continue investing in grassroots sports to help nurture the next generation of Ghanaian sporting talents.
