Amantin/Kasei Community Bank Allocates GHS21.19 Million for Agribusiness Expansion

Accra: Mr Michael Wilberforce Osae, the Chief Executive Officer of Amantin/Kasei Community Bank PLC, has announced that the bank will allocate GHS21.19 million to support agribusiness growth in the Bono East Region by 2026. The initiative aims to provide loans to approximately 1,000 agribusinesses within the agriculture value chain, boosting local economic development.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Osae highlighted this strategic initiative during an interview at the bank's 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at its headquarters in Amantin. He emphasized that this move aligns with the bank's commitment to fostering economic growth in the region. Additionally, the bank has set a profit target of GHS16 million for the year 2026, underscoring its focus on improving financial performance.

Mr Osae also encouraged loan beneficiaries to ensure timely repayment of their loans, as this would enable the bank to extend financial assistance to other businesses, thereby enhancing economic activities and livelihoods in the region.

Earlier at the AGM, Mr Francis Owusu Antwi, the Bono East Regional Minister, praised the bank for its contributions to financial inclusion in the area, lauding the directors, management, and staff for their exemplary performance in 2025. He urged them to maintain their efforts and pursue further achievements while also calling on shareholders and customers to remain loyal to the bank.

Furthermore, Mr Antwi appealed to shareholders and customers to assist the bank in meeting the GHS5 million minimum capital requirement set by the Bank of Ghana by December 31, 2026. He stressed that timely loan repayments would enhance the bank's financial stability, enabling continued support for local individuals and businesses.

The regional minister expressed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the growth and sustainability of community banks within the Bono East Region, recognizing their role in accelerating socio-economic development.

During the AGM, attendees reviewed and adopted the bank's 2025 financial statements, considered reports from the Board of Directors and Auditors, and approved dividends. The meeting also authorized the directors to determine the remuneration for auditors and directors.
