Amansie west: Mr Prince Manu Morris, the Amansie West District Chief Executive (DCE), has reiterated the government's commitment to improving the road network within the district. He emphasized the importance of a good road network in enhancing trade, agriculture, education, healthcare delivery, and the overall living conditions of the people. The government, through the district assembly, plans to continue its efforts to improve road conditions across various communities.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Morris addressed journalists after inspecting the Omanadwaye-Mim Junction road project to assess the progress of work. He noted that the absence of tarred roads in the district has long hindered economic activities and restricted access to essential services. The National Democratic Congress government is set to prioritize the district's road needs, assuring residents that continued advocacy and collaboration with relevant agencies will help speed up road development and boost economic activities in the region.
Mr Morris explained that the inspection tour was intended to ensure that construction progresses in line with approved specifications, guaranteeing quality work. He urged the contractor to strictly adhere to quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines, emphasizing that the assembly would not compromise on the road's durability and safety.
The DCE also appealed to residents along the corridor to support the project by cooperating with workers and safeguarding construction materials, which would facilitate the smooth and timely completion of the project. Community members present at the inspection praised the Assembly's efforts to address their long-standing transportation challenges. They expressed optimism that completing the Omanadwaye-Mim Junction road would significantly ease travel difficulties, particularly during the rainy season, and improve the movement of goods and services.
