Akatsi south: Mr Bernard Ahiafor, the Member of Parliament for Akatsi South, in collaboration with Mr Daniel Dagba, the Municipal Chief Executive, is set to initiate a series of sod-cutting events aimed at launching crucial developmental projects throughout the Akatsi South Municipality.
According to Ghana News Agency, this initiative, scheduled for Thursday to Friday, January 30, will feature the presence of Mr Games Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister. The projects are designed to enhance healthcare delivery, education, sanitation, water access, and staff accommodation within the region, reflecting a concerted effort to elevate the living standards of the local population.
The announcement, detailed in a release by Mr Isaac Attivor, the Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress in Akatsi South, emphasizes the commitment of Mr Ahiafor, who also serves as the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, alongside the MCE, to drive development at the grassroots level. The projects are expected to bolster access to essential services and infrastructure, aligning with the government's broader development objectives.
The community is urged by Mr Attivor to actively participate in these events, recognizing them as a pivotal moment for transformational development in the constituency. He also expressed gratitude towards Mr John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic, and Mr Ahiafor for their enduring support in these initiatives.
Specific projects slated for commencement include the construction of healthcare facilities like a CHPS Compound with Nurses' Accommodation at Ahlepedo, educational infrastructure such as a 3-Unit classroom Block with office and Store at Wodome, and water projects like the drilling and mechanization of 20 boreholes at selected communities.
The second day will concentrate on major educational infrastructure, including a 3-Storey Teachers' Bungalow and a 12-Unit 2-Storey Girls' Dormitory at Akatsi Senior High Technical School. Additional projects feature the construction of new classroom blocks and workshops at various educational institutions, ensuring a comprehensive approach to development across the municipality.
