Kadjebi: The Akan Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially opened the Notice of Polls for its upcoming Polling Station Executives elections. This significant move sets the stage for aspirants to confirm their filed positions and prepare for the electoral process.
According to Ghana News Agency, the elections are scheduled to take place from May 10 to May 16, 2026, across all 116 polling stations in the constituency. Mr. Merigah Abdul Sataru, the Akan Constituency Secretary of the NPP, shared these details during an interview in Kadjebi, located in the Oti Region. He highlighted that the Election Committee has begun distributing and posting notices at designated polling stations to ensure that aspirants and party members are adequately informed.
Mr. Sataru further explained that the committee plans to tour all polling stations to paste the notices and serve copies directly to aspirants, adhering to the party's electoral guidelines. Additionally, the committee aims to leverage social media platforms to broaden access to information and keep stakeholders updated throughout the electoral period.
Commending the aspirants and party faithful for their cooperation during the nomination process, Mr. Sataru noted that no petitions or appeals were recorded within the stipulated window, which he believes reflects unity and discipline within the constituency. He encouraged members to participate actively by turning out in large numbers to vote, emphasizing that a peaceful and transparent process would strengthen the party's grassroots structures ahead of future political activities.
The Polling Station Executives elections are a crucial element of the NPP's internal democratic processes, designed to reorganize and energize the party at the grassroots level.
