Tamale: New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman hopeful Awentami Paul Afoko has donated 400 bags of cement and GHS30,000 to support the construction of an ultramodern NPP Northern Regional office. The donation came after regional executives made a direct appeal during a consultative meeting in Tamale, stressing that a proper party office is key to winning back the region.
According to Ghana Web, the planned multipurpose facility is intended to strengthen party structures and enhance operations across the Northern Region in preparation for the 2028 elections. Presenting the donation on Afoko's behalf, Dr. Akisibadek Alekz Afoko urged NPP supporters to unite behind Afoko's bid for national chairman, emphasizing that his leadership is crucial to 'reclaiming power from the NDC in 2028.'
Afoko, who previously led the NPP as National Chairman from 2014 to 2015, is campaigning on a '3R' blueprint: Reunite, Rebuild, Recapture. Northern Regional 2nd Vice Chairman Alhaji Abdul Rahman Sualihu Mahama, who received the donation on behalf of Regional Chairman Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba, described it as 'timely support.' He expressed that the funds will help complete the office project and encouraged Afoko to continue supporting the party's 2028 comeback mission.
