Takoradi: The African Foundation for Climate Change and Sustainable Development (AFCCSD), in collaboration with the T-Del Foundation and the Eco-Innova Foundation, has provided waste bins to Sowa Din Memorial Two Junior High School in Takoradi. This initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability and proper sanitation among young learners.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Mercy Appiah Kubi, the Headmistress of the school, expressed that the donation represents an investment in the health, discipline, and environmental consciousness of the students. She assured that the school is committed to ensuring the waste bins are used and maintained effectively.
Mr. Francis Aforve, the Executive Director of AFCCSD, highlighted the importance of instilling environmental responsibility at the grassroots level. He remarked that teaching children proper waste management practices today will shape their future and enable them to lead efforts in climate action and sustainable community development. He added that through partnership and action, a cleaner and greener generation is being nurtured.
