Accra: Former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has recounted a harrowing incident in which she survived an alleged assassination attempt involving 48 bullets being fired at her vehicle.
According to Ghana Web, Adwoa Safo first spoke about the incident during an interview on Angel TV on July 28, 2026. She described the attack as a deliberate attempt on her life, attributing her survival to divine intervention. Safo explained that the bullets targeted the back seat of her car, where she would typically sit, but on that day, she was driving herself.
The attack occurred on June 21, 2026, outside the residence of her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena. Safo was visiting to discuss a family matter concerning the succession of their late father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo. She noted that she was alone at the time, without her driver or bodyguards, as it was a weekend.
Safo further shared that doctors abroad were astonished by her survival, questioning how she managed to escape unscathed. She believes the absence of her usual entourage and her attire on that day played a role in her survival. The incident has been described as a targeted "shoot-to-kill" attack, given the number of bullets fired at her vehicle.
