Mildred Donkor, the third prosecution witness in the Adu-Boahene trial, has presented testimony that challenges the prosecution's narrative surrounding the formation of Advantage Solutions Limited. Initially arrested and later converted into a witness for the state, Donkor confirmed under cross-examination at the High Court that the company was incorporated in 2008.
According to Ghana Web, this revelation appears to conflict with the prosecution's assertions in the trial involving former National Signals Bureau Director-General, Kwabena Adu Boahene, and others. The testimony was given during proceedings at Criminal Court 3 - Special Court 1 in Accra, where defence counsel Samuel Atta Akyea conducted a detailed cross-examination of Donkor.
The prosecution's case hinges on the allegation that Advantage Solutions Limited was used in 2020 as a vehicle to channel misappropriated funds into related entities, including Vetex Properties Ltd, Vetex Soluti ons, and BNC Communications Bureau Ltd. However, Donkor's testimony that the company was incorporated in 2008 contradicts earlier suggestions by the prosecution that the company was formed in 2020 as part of the alleged scheme.
During cross-examination, Donkor confirmed that Advantage Solutions Limited had employees on a regular payroll, receiving monthly salaries with pension contributions. Additionally, she acknowledged that salaries were paid to staff of related companies mentioned in the proceedings.
Donkor also admitted to processing payments as part of her duties, including transactions involving directors and an accountant, as referenced in an exhibit tendered in court. Atta Akyea suggested that the company regularly paid service providers and vendors, to which the witness did not dispute but stated she was unaware of the specific vendors. She did, however, confirm payments were made for services rendered by PETRA.
