Adaklu District Unveils Site for New 24-Hour Economy Market

Adaklu: In a significant development for the Adaklu District, Mr. Jerry Yao Ameko, the Adaklu District Chief Executive, and Togbe Gbogbi Atsa V, President of the Adaklu Traditional Council and Paramount Chief of Adaklu, jointly handed over the site for a new 24-Hour Economy Market to the contractor on Friday. The ceremony marked the beginning of an ambitious project set to transform the economic landscape of the district.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ameko highlighted the potential impact of the new market, stating that it would revolutionize business activities in the area and significantly enhance the living standards of its residents. Describing the market as a "transformative initiative," he emphasized the visionary leadership behind the project.

The market will feature a variety of facilities, including lockable shops, a police and fire service post, a clinic, a pharmacy, a mini-mart, a gym, a restaurant, offices, a technology hub, warehouses, bathrooms, and toilets. Additional amenities will include meat shops, cold rooms, car and truck parks, and a waste collection area. Mr. Ameko expressed optimism that the completion of the market, alongside the district's roads under the 'Big Push' initiative, would attract investors and boost tourism.

He urged Delovely Company Limited, the contractors, to expedite their work, suggesting a 24-month completion timeline instead of the allotted 30 months, aligning with the market's 24-hour operational goal. Mr. Collins K. Williams, an engineer from Delovely Company, assured attendees of timely and quality delivery.

Togbe Amanfu, speaking on behalf of Togbe Gbogbi Atsa, commended the Togbe Adofoe family for donating 20 acres of land for the project, following a prior release of 50 acres for the Assembly's establishment. He encouraged other landowners to follow their example. The ceremony was attended by representatives from PPM International, the consultants, as well as assembly members and traditional rulers.
