Ada: Madam Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ada Constituency, has called upon public institutions and service providers in the area to treat public complaints as opportunities for improvement rather than as criticisms against individuals or organizations. She emphasized that the concerns raised by residents often reflect their expectations for better service delivery and should be addressed to tackle the challenges faced by the communities.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Cudjoe made these remarks during a stakeholder engagement held in Ada, which brought together representatives from various institutions, including the Ghana National Ambulance Service, Ghana National Fire Service, the media, tourism operators, assembly members, and other key stakeholders. Participants described the meeting as the first of its kind since she took office as MP. It aimed to identify development challenges within the constituency and explore practical solutions through dialogue and collaboration.
During the engagement, Madam Cudjoe pointed out that institutions operating within the constituency exist to serve the people and should strive to meet residents' expectations. She remarked that persistent complaints from citizens should not be perceived as efforts to undermine institutions but rather as evidence that the public believes these institutions can deliver improved services.
Her comments follow a recent youth-led demonstration in Ada, where residents expressed dissatisfaction with what they termed poor service delivery, particularly in road infrastructure, emergency healthcare, and other public services. The demonstrators marched for over 12 kilometers, presenting petitions to the Ada East and Ada West District Assemblies and traditional authorities, demanding urgent interventions to address development concerns.
Madam Cudjoe urged heads of institutions and stakeholders to openly share the challenges facing their sectors to enable collective efforts towards finding lasting solutions. As part of her support for emergency services in the constituency, she donated GHS50,000 to the Ghana National Ambulance Service towards purchasing a new engine for the district's ambulance, reportedly out of service since December 13, 2025. Additionally, she presented GHS40,000 to the Ghana National Fire Service to support the refurbishment of its faulty fire tender, aiming to enhance emergency response capacity within the constituency.
Participants at the engagement commended the initiative, expressing hope that the platform would foster stronger collaboration among institutions and contribute to addressing critical development challenges in Ada.
