Accra: An Accra High Court has granted a 10-day interim injunction restraining former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo from proceeding with the funeral and burial of the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka. The injunction was filed by the Kristo Asafo Mission concerning issues related to the estate of its late founder.
According to Ghana Web, the injunction is part of a family dispute regarding who holds the legal authority to organize the burial and fulfill the final wishes of the late industrialist. The funeral was originally planned for July 30, 2026, in Gomoa Mpotua, Central Region, with a national farewell scheduled for July 31, 2026, at Independence Square in Accra.
The late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka was the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission and was recognized as a prominent Ghanaian industrialist and inventor, particularly noted for his contributions to automobile manufacturing, technology, and innovation. The court's order is set to last for 10 days as the involved parties await further legal proceedings.
