ACCP Appoints Humserve Africa for CSR Framework Implementation in Ghana

Accra:The African Chamber of Content Producers (ACCP) has selected Humanity Services Africa Foundation (Humserve Africa) to spearhead the establishment of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework in Ghana. This initiative aims to create a structured, transparent, and accountable CSR regime, following a call made in Parliament by Mr. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, MP for Nsawam/Adoagyiri.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Annoh-Dompreh highlighted in his parliamentary statement the fragmented and inconsistent nature of CSR practices in Ghana, advocating for a legislative framework to address these issues. The ACCP has responded by developing a practical implementation plan to demonstrate the potential of a structured CSR model, which could influence legislative action.

The ACCP has officially communicated its plan to Mr. Annoh-Dompreh, endorsing his call for a structured CSR regime and offering partnership. The Chamber's appointment of Humserve Africa marks a transition from advocacy to action, utilizing the Foundation to showcase and document an effective CSR model.

Humserve Africa, which has been active in Ghana's health sector since 2022 through its Surgical Aid Programme, plans to facilitate 500 free surgical procedures between 2026 and 2027, expanding its scope to include various medical conditions. The Foundation aims to demonstrate the impact of sustained corporate support, providing evidence to support the legislative process.

The ACCP intends to document these interventions and the support from corporate Ghana to create verifiable impact data. It plans to present these findings to the relevant Parliamentary Committee, ensuring that any future CSR framework is informed by practical experience. The Chamber also encourages corporate Ghana to support Humserve's initiatives, noting that participating companies will be part of the evidence presented to Parliament.
