Aboso: The Reverend Stephen Martinson, a retired Regional Manager of Presbyterian Schools for the Western and Western North Regions, has been inducted into office as the Aboso District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG). The induction service took place at the Victory Congregation, Aboso, in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality, officiated by Rev. Dr. Joseph Apea Asamoah, Chairperson of the Western Presbytery of the PCG, and was attended by pastors, traditional rulers, family members, friends, and loved ones.
According to Ghana News Agency, Rev. Dr. Asamoah delivered a sermon titled 'Call into Light and United for God's Mission', emphasizing the importance of unity among church members and leaders for fulfilling the church's mission. He noted that unity serves as the backbone for flourishing churches, stating, 'Whenever the church is united, the Spirit of the Lord is with them, guiding their mission. But when they are divided, clearly the Spirit of God will not work among them, and achieving the church's mission becomes difficult.'
Rev. Dr. Asamoah encouraged church leaders to exercise patience with members, highlighting that people join the church voluntarily and should be treated with care to garner their support. He also advised members to submit to leadership to help achieve the church's vision and exhorted the newly inducted minister to remain humble and serve faithfully.
In his remarks, Rev. Martinson expressed gratitude to the leadership of the PCG for the confidence placed in him. He appealed for prayers to enable him to serve effectively and called on the congregation to cooperate with him and support initiatives aimed at uplifting the image of the church.
