Accra:Several fans reportedly collapsed during Shatta Wale's performance at the 2026 Nkrumahfest, according to broadcaster Blakk Rasta. The event was held in the Nkroful area and marked Shatta Wale's first appearance at the festival, where he shared the stage with Kofi Kinaata and Empress Gifty.
According to Ghana Web, the anticipation for Shatta Wale's performance was immense, especially after Empress Gifty concluded her set. Shatta Wale arrived on businessman RNAQ's private jet and made his entrance amid high expectations from the crowd.
Blakk Rasta recounted that despite a downpour, Shatta Wale delivered an energetic performance, even taking off his shirt and continuing to perform in the rain. This combination of excitement, weather conditions, and a tightly packed audience led to several fans fainting.
Emergency services, including the Ghana National Fire Service, police officers, and ambulance personnel, responded swiftly. The police assisted those who collapsed, while the Fire Service sprayed additional water on the crowd to help cool them down. Blakk Rasta praised the emergency teams for effectively managing the situation, allowing the concert to continue safely.
