Accra:Former NDC Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho, has expressed concern over the encouragement of young people in Ghana to insult political leaders and disseminate falsehoods, emphasizing that the country belongs to everyone, not any particular family or group.
According to Ghana Web, Anyidoho criticized the prevalent use of insults in Ghanaian politics, stating that it exposes the youth to behaviors with potentially serious consequences. He pointed out that political leaders, pastors, and traditional leaders are increasingly being subjected to insults, questioning why such disrespect should occur due to political differences.
He warned those responsible for introducing such conduct into Ghanaian politics that they should be ready to face the repercussions of their actions. He likened the consequences to the biblical story of Ahab and Jezebel, suggesting that those encouraging the youth to spread insults and lies should prepare for a day of reckoning.
Anyidoho expressed confidence that the situation would improve, asserting that ongoing efforts, including prayer, would bring an end to the issue. He stressed that Ghana does not belong to any single family or group, and called for an end to the disruptive behavior, which he referred to as "nonsense."
