Banjul: The leader of Economic Freedom Fighters - The Gambia (EFF-Gambia), His Royal Highness (HRH), Prince Ebrahim Sanyang, has outlined a bold global standing strategy that places the Gambian diaspora at the centre of national development and redefines the country's foreign policy.
According to Ghana Web, the movement holds a broad array of policies spanning food security, jobs, housing, and climate resilience. HRH Sanyang has emphasized that if elected, transforming how The Gambia engages with its citizens abroad and the rest of the world will be a key priority for implementation. He described the Gambian diaspora as a national asset whose investment, knowledge, and networks must be harnessed for development.
An EFF-Gambia government, he said, will open clear, transparent channels for diaspora capital to flow freely into housing, agriculture, industry, and technology, whether Gambians choose to return home or contribute from abroad. To address irregular migration, the party plans to facilitate legal migration pathways and create structured skills exchange programmes, so that leaving The Gambia becomes a safe, informed, and dignified choice, not a desperate escape driven by lack of opportunity.
Gambian embassies will be transformed from mere administrative posts into active portals for investment, education, and diaspora engagement, providing practical support for Gambians abroad and connecting them to opportunities at home.
On the international stage, Sanyang unveiled his foreign policy doctrine: "Friend to All Nations, Servant to Only Gambians." He said The Gambia under EFF-Gambia will pursue a pragmatic and principle-driven diplomacy, building bridges with every country, East and West, while keeping the welfare of Gambians as the sole yardstick for every treaty, trade agreement, aid package, or overseas deployment.
Every international decision, he stressed, will be evaluated first on how it improves the lives of Gambians at home-whether in terms of jobs, food prices, security, or skills transfer. "Together, an outward-looking yet citizen-first foreign policy will turn the world's opportunities into tangible benefits for every Gambian," Sanyang said.
The EFF-Gambia leader encouraged the public to read the full Foreign Policy platform via the "Read our Foreign Policy platform" link, noting that the strategy aims to restore The Gambia's global respect while ensuring diplomacy delivers dividends for ordinary people.
