Kumasi: Renowned road contractor Kofi Gyebi Job and his wife, Dr Esther Okyere Gyebi, have funded the surgeries and treatment of three needy patients at a cost of almost GHS50,000. The support, provided through the Kofi Job Foundation, enabled the three beneficiaries to undergo emergency surgeries and receive the necessary treatment.
According to Ghana Web, the intervention ensured that the beneficiaries received timely medical care, helping to save them from potentially life-threatening conditions. Speaking to OTEC News, the Public Relations Officer of the Kofi Job Foundation, Kwame Agyenim Boateng, shared details about one of the beneficiaries, Mama Vida, who was suffering from a hernia that had reached an advanced stage.
Mama Vida explained that the high cost of treatment had forced her to stop seeking medical care until she turned to the philanthropic couple, Kofi Gyebi Job and Dr Esther Okyere Gyebi, for assistance. She expressed her gratitude towards the foundation, noting that they found a surgeon who guided her through the necessary procedures before performing the surgery, which provided her with significant relief.
In addition to Mama Vida, two other patients, one suffering from diabetes and another battling cancer, also received treatment and surgery funded by the foundation. Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Kizito remarked that all three cases required urgent medical attention and stressed that the hernia patient, in particular, could have faced dire consequences without timely intervention.
Dr Kizito commended the Kofi Job Foundation for its support and intervention, highlighting the significant impact it had on the lives of the patients.
