Florence Obinim Reportedly Initiates Traditional Divorce from Bishop Obinim

Accra: Florence Obinim, a gospel musician and wife of Bishop Daniel Obinim, leader of the International God's Way Church, has reportedly taken steps towards a traditional divorce after more than two decades of marriage. This development has stirred significant interest given the couple's longstanding union.

According to Ghana Web, media personality Ola Michael revealed that a family member of Bishop Obinim informed him about Florence's family returning her 'Tiri Nsa'. This traditional Ghanaian custom symbolizes a woman's intention to end a marriage, marking a significant move in the couple's relationship.

During his show on Neat FM, Ola Michael elaborated that Florence Obinim's family cited continuous disrespect, disgrace, and insults as the reasons for initiating the divorce. They returned the traditional drinks, a customary gesture to signify the end of the marriage, expressing their weariness of the ongoing issues.

Ola Michael further mentioned that Bishop Obinim and his family surprisingly accepted the drinks, which traditionally symbolizes agreement to the divorce, without any attempt to reject them and preserve the marriage. This move has fueled speculation about the state of their relationship.

Florence Obinim had previously indicated in June 2026 that she was open to a divorce, should Bishop Obinim wish to formally end their 22-year-old marriage. Her statement came after Bishop Obinim publicly expressed his frustrations, admitting that he felt scared and agitated about returning home due to marital tensions.

While Florence Obinim has expressed her willingness to support her husband's decision, neither she nor Bishop Daniel Obinim has publicly confirmed the return of the traditional drinks or the initiation of a traditional divorce. The couple's silence leaves the situation open to further developments.
