Kumasi: Madam Anna Horma Akaisi Miezah, an aspiring national first vice chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to work tirelessly to rebuild and strengthen the party to enable its return to power. She emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, effective communication, and strong grassroots mobilization to regain the confidence of Ghanaians ahead of the 2028 general election.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Miezah's decision to contest for the position was driven by her desire to contribute her experience, energy, and commitment towards revitalizing the party at all levels. She highlighted the NPP's strong foundation and dedicated membership across the country, stressing the need for greater collaboration between national, regional, constituency, and polling station structures.
Madam Miezah urged party members to put aside personal differences and work collaboratively towards a common objective, emphasizing that internal disagreements should not be allowed to weaken the party. She affirmed that the grassroots remain the backbone of the NPP and promised to ensure their concerns receive serious attention if elected.
The aspiring vice chairman underscored the necessity of supporting polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, and constituency executives with adequate training and motivation to effectively mobilize voters. She committed to promoting an open-door leadership style, encouraging party members to contribute ideas to the rebuilding process.
Madam Miezah also stressed the need for the party to enhance its communication structures to effectively explain its policies and address issues concerning the Ghanaian electorate. Winning the next election, she noted, would require more than political rhetoric, necessitating consistent engagement with communities and ordinary Ghanaians.
She called on the party to listen to the public's concerns, learn from past experiences, and devise strategies to restore public confidence. Madam Miezah assured delegates that, if given the mandate, she would collaborate with the National Executive Committee, parliamentary leadership, and grassroots structures to build a united and formidable party.
