Karaga: Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, Member of Parliament for Karaga Constituency, has criticised the government for abandoning the Agenda 111 hospital project in the Karaga constituency in favour of a 24-hour economy market. He questioned why the government would prioritise a market over a hospital that would save lives.
According to Ghana Web, Dr Adam expressed his concerns about the government's decision, highlighting the importance of healthcare facilities over market infrastructure. He argued that while traders could easily sell their goods from their homes, building a hospital equipped with necessary medical tools and professionals is crucial for saving lives.
Dr Adam revealed that he had made significant efforts to secure the Agenda 111 project for Karaga. He noted with disappointment that despite his lobbying, the government decided to halt the project. 'When the government distributed the Agenda 111 hospital projects, Karaga wasn't included, but I lobbied for Karaga to benefit from the project. Look at it now, it's halted,' he remarked.
Further complicating the situation, Dr Adam pointed out that approximately half of the road projects in the constituency have also stalled, primarily due to the non-payment of contractors. This development, he indicated, further hampers the progress and development of the Karaga constituency.
