Accra: Apostle Daniel Junior Yaw Adjei, who was arrested for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Prophet Mohammed, is calling for a public apology and compensation from the Ghana Police Service, claiming mistreatment during his time at the Police Headquarters.
According to Ghana Web, Apostle Adjei recounted in an interview with Blakk Rasta that he faced assault and humiliation after being summoned by the police regarding the incident. He is demanding that the police issue a public apology and compensate him for the damages he suffered, emphasizing the importance of addressing this issue to prevent future occurrences.
Apostle Adjei expressed his concerns over the police's actions, accusing them of inviting individuals who threatened him and warning that such behavior could lead to further incidents if not properly addressed. He criticized the police for including his photograph in their documents while omitting the individual he accused of making threats, describing it as an attempt to humiliate him.
The pastor claimed that the incident had financial repercussions, including the loss of personal belongings like his phones. He insisted that a public apology and compensation are necessary to rectify the situation and send a message that no one is above the law, regardless of their status.
Apostle Adjei recounted being slapped at the police premises and mentioned that a CID officer disputed his claim of being assaulted. He felt humiliated as the event was allegedly celebrated on social media, adding to his distress.
