Police to Increase Presence in Ahafo Ano Southwest with New Accommodation

Accra: The Ashanti Regional Police Command has committed to deploying additional officers to the Ahafo Ano South West District, contingent upon the availability of adequate accommodation for the personnel. Commissioner of Police (COP) Osei Akoto Arthur, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, made this announcement during a visit to Mr. Abubakar Sedik, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West. The purpose of the visit was to address security concerns and reinforce the collaboration between the Police and the District Assembly.

According to Ghana News Agency, COP Arthur's visit highlighted the importance of the ongoing partnership between the Police Service and the District Assembly, emphasizing that such cooperation is crucial for maintaining law and order. COP Arthur acknowledged the Assembly's support for the Ghana Police Service and reiterated the Police's commitment to improving security in the district through joint efforts.

A significant point of discussion was the necessity for suitable accommodation for police personnel. Plans have been disclosed by the District Police Command to construct staff quarters, aiming to provide decent living conditions for officers and enhance operational efficiency. Mr. Sedik affirmed the Assembly's backing for this initiative and expressed a willingness to collaborate with the Police to gather the necessary resources for the project's execution.

COP Arthur assured that the provision of accommodation would facilitate the deployment of more officers to the district. He guaranteed the DCE that additional personnel would be assigned once the staff quarters are ready. Mr. Sedik lauded the professionalism and dedication of the District Police Commander and his team in maintaining peace and security in the area, and he pledged the Assembly's ongoing support for their efforts.
