Accra: The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) has taken significant steps to enhance its administration and technical development by appointing Mr. Simon Koku Gluikpor as Technical Director and Madam Hannah Akua Humphrey as a member of its Executive Board. This announcement is aimed at bolstering the growth and effective management of taekwondo in the country.
According to Ghana News Agency, the appointments were officially communicated in a notice dated August 13, addressed to all Member Regional Associations (MRAs). GTF President, Mr. Frederick Lartey Otu, made these strategic appointments to ensure the federation's objectives are met efficiently.
Mr. Gluikpor, as the newly appointed Technical Director, is tasked with providing technical leadership and guidance. He will work closely with the Executive Board, regional associations, coaches, referees, athletes, and other stakeholders to advance the sport's development and performance nationwide.
Madam Humphrey's role on the Executive Board will involve supporting the implementation of federation policies, programs, and initiatives. Her responsibilities will also include contributing to administrative development and assisting with financial matters as directed by the Executive Board.
The GTF has called upon all regional associations to extend cooperation and support to the new appointees to facilitate the effective execution of their duties. Regional executives are encouraged to maintain open lines of communication with Mr. Gluikpor on technical issues and with the Executive Board on matters concerning federation programs and administration.
The federation emphasized that these appointments are part of its commitment to establishing a strong, professional, and development-oriented administration for the 2026-2030 term. The GTF congratulated Mr. Gluikpor and Madam Humphrey, expressing confidence in their capacity to contribute significantly to the advancement of taekwondo in Ghana.
