Accra: Ghanaian musician Dr Cryme has advised individuals who want to support others to be cautious about the people they choose to help. He stressed that not everyone is ready to take advantage of an opportunity.
According to Ghana Web, Dr Cryme shared his insights during a recent interview with Nahbaff Media, where he recounted personal experiences with individuals who were not prepared to put in the necessary effort despite his willingness to assist them. He emphasized the importance of helping those who are eager to be helped, sharing, "I always tell people that help those who want to be helped. Some time ago, I was planning to help some people get to the top, but some were not ready."
Dr Cryme highlighted the potential burden of assisting individuals who are unwilling to help themselves. He explained that such situations could hinder the progress of others who are genuinely committed to succeeding. "If you're helping like 10 people and five of them are not ready to be helped, they will put some form of weight on you," he noted.
He further mentioned that although opportunities are abundant, it is crucial for those receiving help to show commitment and a willingness to work. "You might be willing to help because you think the sky is big enough for us to share so that we can also win together and some are not ready; they won't push you or be motivated enough to help the rest," he shared.
Dr Cryme urged supporters to stay vigilant and create awareness around their efforts, particularly when investing their resources in helping others advance. He also encouraged people to help others without expecting appreciation, repayment, or recognition in return, stating, "Anything that you're doing to help, don't expect anything in return. Whether the person is grateful or not, leave it to God."
