Manchester City Dismisses Barcelona’s £60m Bid for Midfielder Rodri

Barcelona: One of the most topical transfer stories has been Spanish midfielder Rodri's potential move to FC Barcelona, which has stalled due to the failure to reach an agreement with Manchester City over the transfer fee. A bid worth around £60 million was rejected by the Citizens, who are demanding closer to £80 million as club-to-club talks continue.

According to Ghana Web, Manchester City have rejected a £55 million bid from Barcelona for Spain midfielder Rodri, with the Premier League club wanting more than £60 million for the 30-year-old as talks continue. Meanwhile, Tottenham's England defender Djed Spence, 26, is set to undergo a medical in Italy on Friday before finalizing a move to Inter Milan worth £30 million, plus £5 million in add-ons.

In other developments, Arsenal made a move for Spain defender Marc Pubill, but Atl©tico Madrid declared the 23-year-old not for sale. Hull City, on the other hand, are set to complete the signing of French midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath, 23, from Red Bull Salzburg for £4 million. Hull have also submitted an offer worth more than £15 million for Everton's English midfielder Tim Iroegbunam, 23.

Further, Ipswich Town are determined to sign German striker Derry Scherhant, 23, from Freiburg this summer. Bayer Leverkusen has rejected a £20 million offer from Ipswich for Argentina midfielder Exequiel Palacios, 27. Napoli faces a decision on the future of Italy striker Lorenzo Lucca, 25, before opening talks with Arsenal over signing Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus, 29.

AC Milan manager Rºben Amorim has informed eight players, including England defender Fikayo Tomori, 28, and France forward Christopher Nkunku, 28, that they are surplus to requirements. Italian side Genoa is interested in signing Republic of Ireland striker Evan Ferguson, 21, on loan from Brighton.

West Ham is confident of agreeing to a deal with Celtic to sign £20 million-rated Belgium midfielder Arne Engels, 22. Ajax is considering a move for Wolves defender Santiago Bueno, 27, who is the club's reigning Player of the Season. Lincoln faced a setback as their £2 million offer was rejected for Burton attacker Tyrese Shade, 26.

Middlesbrough has joined Rangers in the pursuit of Leicester winger Stephy Mavididi, 28, valued at around £7 million. Barnsley has turned down a series of bids in the region of £3 million for forward Reyes Cleary, as the club seeks more for the 22-year-old.
