Accra: Capelli Sport, an American sportswear company, will provide kits for all runners participating in the 2026 Tampico Accra Inter-City Marathon, scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026. This collaboration marks Capelli Sport as the official kits sponsor for the race, which is expected to draw over 2000 participants.
According to Ghana News Agency, each registered participant will receive running vests from the international sports kits company. Race Director William Ezah expressed excitement about the development, emphasizing that athletes will be well-equipped for the event. This partnership marks the first time an international sport kits company supports the race, enhancing its profile.
The Tampico Accra Inter-City Marathon has received endorsement from Ghana Athletics, the governing body of athletics in Ghana. For the first time, the race will feature an electronic timing system to provide accurate timing and prevent cheating.
The marathon will be conducted in two categories: a 21-kilometer race a
nd a 5-kilometer race, open to athletes, fitness clubs, and race enthusiasts. The event will start and finish at the Trust Sports Emporium (Bukom Boxing Arena) in Accra.
Capelli Sport also operates in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, under Capelli Europe GmbH, and in China under GMA Shanghai.
