Accra: Ghanaian actor and football enthusiast Yaw Dabo has denied claims that his trip to the United States was sponsored by the government or a politician. According to Ghana Web, the Kumawood actor clarified in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM that his trip to the US was sponsored by Dr ‘Time Daso’ of Medimafo Herbal Hospital, who paid for his flight ticket.
Yaw Dabo emphasized that while Dr Time Daso covered the cost of his flight, he personally managed all other expenses related to the trip, such as accommodation. The actor addressed rumors sparked by Dada Santo, who suggested that the government was behind his travel expenses.
He further explained that attending the World Cup is a tradition for him and not a recent development. Dabo stated that he has consistently traveled to watch the World Cup every four years and noted that his statements during these events often gain attention.
Yaw Dabo also highlighted that his popularity has inadvertently led to viral moments, although he does not intentionally seek such attention. He recounted how his presence at World Cup events even caught the eye of former Chelsea and England defender John Terry, who reached out to him after realizing his fame in Ghana.
