NPP Upper West Regional Chairmanship Election: Delegates Are Buying Into Our Message, Says Team Alaska

Mr. Ali elaborated on the campaign's core message, stating that they intend to change the party's image in the region and align with the aspirations of constituents, delegates, politicians, and grassroots members. He expressed the team's commitment to reorganizing the party around the grassroots, strengthening constituency structures, mobilizing resources for constituency activities, and providing assertive and inclusive regional leadership if elected.

Highlighting the campaign team's strategy, Mr. Ali, who is also contesting for the position of Regional Communications Director, mentioned that they have gathered individuals with extensive grassroots political experience to reposition the party in the region. He noted that Alhaji Alaska possesses the necessary leadership qualities to effectively represent the region's interests at the party's National Executive Committee (NEC), a key decision-making body responsible for formulating major party policies and strategies.

Emphasizing the qualities required of a regional chairman, Mr. Ali stressed the importance of intelligence, articulation, and courage in presenting the region's aspirations and concerns to the party's national leadership. He highlighted the need for a regional chairman who demonstrates strong commitment to grassroots mobilization, especially while the party is in opposition.

Citing Alhaji Alaska's active involvement in grassroots mobilization during the 2024 general election, Mr. Ali underlined his dedication to the party. He described Alhaji Alaska as a transformative leader willing to invest personal resources in supporting the party's development and activities without expecting personal gain. Moreover, he noted that the chairmanship aspirant is not ethnocentric and appreciates the diverse cultures within the region, communicating effectively in several local languages, which fosters unity and inclusiveness within the party.

The members of Team Alaska seeking regional executive positions include Mr. Ali Karim Kamara as First Vice Chairman, Mr. Wontina Bamutu as Second Vice Chairman, Mr. Salia Dauda Kaleo as Regional Secretary, Mr. Benin Sulemani as Assistant Regional Secretary, Adama Amadu as Regional Organiser, Mr. Saatir James Kpir-Faatey as Regional Treasurer, Mr. Bukari Ali as Regional Communications Director, Alhaji Nuhu Abdul Jalilu as Nasara Coordinator, and Mr. Seleman Yahaya as Regional Youth Organiser.
