Tema: Mr Cash-Abbey William, a philanthropist based in Tema, has paid the medical bills of seven patients receiving treatment at the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga. The gesture was made in celebration of the birthday of his female twins, who turned seven on Friday, July 31.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr William expressed that the birth of his twins at the Upper East Regional Hospital had been a blessing, especially after the family lost their first set of twins. By settling the bills amounting to GHS7,000.00, Mr William and his family aimed to show gratitude for their daughters and appreciation to the hospital staff and humanity.
Dr Joseph Kojo Tambil, the Medical Director of the Hospital, thanked Mr William for his support and emphasized the need for assistance from various sectors to maintain quality healthcare at the hospital. He highlighted that hospital financing should not be solely dependent on the government and called for collaborations to ensure the 265-bed referral facility continues to provide efficient healthcare services.
Dr Tambil also appealed to individuals from the Upper East Region, both locally and internationally, as well as corporate entities and philanthropists, to contribute to the hospital's efforts in enhancing healthcare delivery and patient care.
