Accra: Odo Broni, the estranged widow of the late Ghanaian Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known as Daddy Lumba, has become a focal point on social media following the first anniversary of the musician’s death. Over the weekend, a one-year memorial ceremony was held by the family to honor the memory of the Highlife icon.
According to Ghana Web, Odo Broni, one of Daddy Lumba’s surviving spouses, was seen at the graveside of the late musician, shedding tears as she mourned his passing. The emotional scene has stirred conversations online, particularly as she tearfully called on the late singer to exonerate her from allegations linking her to his death. In a viral video, Odo Broni expressed the emotional distress and public scrutiny she has faced since the accusations surfaced.
In her heartfelt message at the graveside, Odo Broni stated, “I am suffering. Papa, while you were alive, I was never at loggerheads with you. Papa, you were the only person who knew the truth because, when you were alive, you told me that if not for me, you would have died a long time ago. You even told people how good I was to you. Papa, please clear my name. I am crying at your grave because I have suffered.” Her plea highlighted the ongoing challenges she faces in the wake of the Highlife legend’s passing.
