Accra: More than half of Ghanaians say their standard of living has improved over the past year, according to a new survey conducted by the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah.
According to Ghana Web, the poll indicated that 53% of respondents said their standard of living had improved compared with July 2025, while 19% said it had worsened. Another 23% said their situation had remained the same, while 5% offered no opinion.
The findings suggest that a majority of Ghanaians now report an improvement in their personal economic circumstances after a year marked by changes in inflation and pressure on the cedi. Inflation declined significantly for most of the past year before rising slightly in recent months, while the cedi has weakened against major currencies since the beginning of 2026, according to the Bank of Ghana's July 2026 Summary of Economic and Financial Data report.
Amid these economic conditions, the survey suggests that many Ghanaians are comparing their current circumstances with those of a year ago and, on balance, perceive an improvement in their standard of living.
