Accra: Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema is set to embark on a three-day state visit to Ghana from July 28 to July 30, following an invitation from President John Dramani Mahama.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement released by Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who serves as the Presidential Spokesman and Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, detailed that President Nguema will be accompanied by a high-level delegation. This delegation will include government ministers, senior officials, and members of the Gabonese business community, highlighting the importance of this visit in the context of Ghana-Gabon relations.
The visit is described in the statement as a significant milestone in the increasingly robust bilateral relations between the two nations. The itinerary includes a personal meeting between the two Heads of State, followed by formal bilateral discussions at the Jubilee House in Accra on July 28. These discussions aim to evaluate the current relations and identify new collaborative opportunities beyond existing political and diplomatic engagements.
Key topics on the agenda for the discussions include trade and investment, mining, energy, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, maritime affairs, transport, tourism, education, health, defense and security cooperation, environmental protection, climate action, and fostering people-to-people exchanges.
