Accra: National Organiser of the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye, widely known as Nana B, has formally announced his candidacy for the role of National First Vice Chairman of the party in the upcoming elections. In a statement directed at party executives, elders, patrons, and members, Nana B expressed his intention to run for the position following 26 years of dedicated service to the party.
According to Ghana Web, Nana B emphasized that his extensive experience has equipped him to fortify the party's structures, reengage with the grassroots, and meaningfully contribute to the NPP's mission to regain power in the 2028 general elections. He stated, "By the grace of God, and after twenty-six (26) years of active service to our party, I believe the experience and lessons I have gained have prepared me to help strengthen our party structures, reconnect with our grassroots and contribute meaningfully to our collective mission of returning the New Patriotic Party to government in 2028."
Nana B highlighted his extensive record of service within the party, enumerating various roles he has held at different levels, including Polling Station Agent during the 2000 general elections, Polling Station Chairman in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem and Oforikrom constituencies, and Communications Officer for the Oforikrom Constituency. He also served as TESCON President at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
He further detailed his involvement as a member of the Ashanti Regional Communications Team, Director of Events and Programmes of the National Youth Wing, National Organiser, and a member of the National Executive Committee, National Council, and National Steering Committee. Additionally, Nana B was a part of the NPP's 2020 and 2024 National Campaign Teams.
In his appeal to party members, Nana B expressed confidence that unity and determination are crucial for the NPP's return to power. "My aspiration is anchored on the belief that with unity of purpose and renewed determination, we can reposition our party for victory in the 2028 general elections. I respectfully and humbly seek your prayers, guidance, and support as we embark on this important journey together. May God bless our homeland Ghana, and our great Party," his statement concluded.
