‘Is This Fair?’ – Akwasi Boateng Fumes Over Container Blocking Road Near His Home

Kumasi: Ghanaian gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng has expressed frustration after an individual allegedly placed a container on part of the road in front of his home, reducing access for motorists and pedestrians.

According to Ghana Web, the gospel singer spoke out in a video circulating on social media on July 6, 2026, claiming that the person ignored repeated warnings from residents, traditional authorities, and officials from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly before installing the container. He further asserted that the individual did not obtain the necessary permit before placing the structure on the roadside.

Boateng emphasized the implications of such actions by questioning the potential chaos if everyone decided to erect containers along public pathways. He highlighted the importance of the area as a pathway for residents and expressed concern over the lack of access if similar actions were to be taken by others.

The gospel musician criticized what he perceives as a disregard for due process, insisting on the necessity of obtaining proper approval before placing structures on someone else’s property or in public access areas. He reiterated the need for adherence to legal requirements to maintain order and fairness in the community.
