Accra: The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, confronted entertainment pundit Ola Michael with strong language during a live television discussion on United Showbiz. The confrontation occurred amidst a debate over flooding issues in Gomoa Central, which have recently placed A Plus in the spotlight.
According to Ghana Web, the incident unfolded on July 5, 2026, as Ola Michael was reading viewer comments critical of A Plus. These comments followed A Plus’s recent outburst at a constituent concerned about the flooding in Gomoa Central. As Ola Michael continued to read the critical comments, A Plus interrupted him, accusing Michael of being ‘senseless’ and lacking progressive thought.
A Plus’s remarks were direct and sharp, criticizing Ola Michael’s questioning of the logistics behind a proposed special economic zone in Gomoa Central. A Plus stated, ‘Ola, you cannot come here and ask me anything. You are mad. He is naturally a fool. From the very first day, we said we were going to build a special economic zone, but he did not have anything important to say. The only thing he could ask was where we would get the land from. He should be progressive. He is always thinking backwards because he is a fool.’
Furthermore, A Plus asserted that Ola Michael was in no position to offer him advice regarding his public statements or social media comments. He added, ‘You, Ola Michael, cannot advise me. Do you know where I came from and how I have been able to get to this position?’
The exchange has generated significant reactions online, with many expressing disappointment over the tone of the debate. The video of the incident has circulated widely, prompting discussions on the appropriateness of public discourse among leaders and media figures.
