Bodi: A total of twenty-nine aspirants have been cleared to contest various executive positions in the Bodi Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western North Region. Mr. Gabriel Doh, the Regional Youth Organiser and Secretary to the Elections Committee, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) following a successful vetting exercise.
According to Ghana News Agency, the contest for the Constituency Chairmanship position will see two aspirants, Mr. Alex Ofori and Mr. Joshua Yaw Kwarterng, vying for the top spot. The First Vice Chairman position has attracted five contenders: Kojo Numad, Daniel Ofori, Solomon Ababio Ampem, Nana Kankam Dacosta, and Johnny Ampem Baffour.
Meanwhile, Mr. Maxwell Kwame Aduhene Gyamfi and Sylvester Gyabeng are set to compete for the Second Vice Chairman position. The race for the Constituency Secretary will be between Derick Danso and Emmanuel Fuachie, while Mr. Prince Nana Nkuah Owusu and Peter Asante will vie for the Deputy Secretary role.
In the Women's Organiser category, four aspirants-Madam Theresah Bie Aidoo, Madam Grace Ofori, Madam Sara Bie, and Madam Elizabeth Fosu-are in the running. The position of Constituency Communications Officer will see Mr. Benedict Sobre Mensah, Mohammed Mustapha, and Kum Timothy competing, while Mr. Kwabena Aseidu and Mr. Collins Oppong will contest the Treasurer position.
Additionally, Mr. Yussif Ibrahim, Razak Frankasa, and Abubakar Sadique are set to contest for the Nasara Organiser position, whereas Mr. Mullah Bananba and Francis Gyabeng will vie for the Organiser role. Mr. Prempeh Charles Kuffuor and Mr. Armah Emmanuel are also in the race for the Youth Organiser position.
Mr. Doh announced that the elections are scheduled to take place on July 11, 2026, at the Anglican Church in Bodi. He urged all aspirants and their supporters to engage in issue-based and decent campaigns to ensure unity post-elections, especially in anticipation of the 2028 general elections. The committee is committed to assuring all involved parties of a free, transparent, and fair electoral process.
